Zenescope Entertainment recently announced that they obtained the comic book rights to Charmed. Charmed is a television series, created by Constance M. Burge from Spelling Entertainment, about three sisters descended from a line of good witches who use their magic to battle the forces of evil.
The Charmed comic book series will have a new story line continued from where the television series left off. It will be written by Paul Ruditis, who is known for writing several Charmed novels, such as Leo Rising and As Puck Would Have It. Raven Gregory (Wonderland) will be co-writing and Dave Hoover (Captain America, The Wonderers) will provide the interior art for the series. The Charmed comic book series will be tailored to not alienate new fans who aren’t familiar with the television series.
“The key to this series success is to strike a nice balance in creating a brand new, intriguing storyline for fans of the television show while also not alienating Zenescope and comic book readers who haven’t really followed it before but might want to now that it’s a comic. The great thing is that Paul and Raven have done just that with this story arc. Anybody will be able to pick up this series and follow it whether or not they ever watched the show before. Moreover, fans of the show are going to be thrilled when they see where this story goes.”
-Ralph Tedesco, Zenescope Editor-in-Chief
Zenescope Entertainment was founded by Joe Brusha and Ralph Tedesco in 2005. The company is best known for their comic book series Grimm Fairy Tales, which puts a dark spin on classic fables. Zenescope has published other film licenses, such as Se7en and Final Destination.
Charmed #0 will be out in June, and Charmed #1 will debut at Comic-Con International in San Diego this July.

I think I’d rather look at Alyssa Milano on TV than in a comic lol
@Speech – I second that
Yeah, I’ll be skipping this one, but Zenescope sounds like a good home for this series!
ROFL! I’m curious of the comic despite having a grudge over the show XD
Really? A grudge against Charmed? Why? Yeah I am a bit nosey lol

I thought the show tried to be like Buffy and took its spot on WB. Having it not cancelled like Buffy didn’t help either. Also some aspects of the show (IE warlock=evil witch) didn’t agree with me.
This sounds childish now, but you must remember, I’ve had this grudge for over 10 years. XD
I never realized Alyssa Milano was on this show…;)
Yep Billy, it’s cooky, isn’t it?
Thats a pretty long time PP lol
@Billy – that was the only reason I even watched the few episodes that I did lol
The fact that Charmed is getting its own comic book series doesn’t sound like good news to me. Despite my personal dislike of the series it may be successful. I kind of doubt that the series will be as successful Buffy Season Eight. However, I would admit that I am being biased since I don’t believe Charmed is in the same league as Buffy.
OMG!!! I LUV CHARMED!!!! LIKE I WATCHED IT EVERY THURSDAY, WEDNSDAY AND SUNDAY!!!!! I CANT WAIT 4 THE COMIC BOOK SERIES!!!!! SQUEEEEEEE!!!!!!!! LIKE I HOPE BILLIE LIKE DIES SHES A SKANK!!!! I LUV PHOEBE!!!!!
