The beautifully insane madness that is New York Comic Con is upon us once again! Attendees from all over the globe came to see their favorite comic creators, get exclusives, show their cosplay skills, buy comics, and much more this past weekend. In all of the excitement ComicAttack was there soaking up as much of the comic fueled greatness as possible! Sensory overload was a risk we were willing to take over the next four days to bring you guys the coverage you so deserve. So just sit back and enjoy the fact that if you didn’t get to go that we navigated those crowded walkways for you!
First up was the unveiling of the Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury wax figure from Madame Tussauds and Midtown Comics! Those who had tickets for Thursday were able to be the first of many to see the fantastic and very detailed work done by Madame Tussauds. From head to toe it was obvious many hours were spent to bring Samuel L. Jackson’s likeness as Nick Fury to the forefront. The work in the face was spot on and even startled several con goers (myself included) as they were sure that it was the actual live actor there for a moment. An accurately detailed wardrobe solidified the look of Nick Fury making the entire piece worthy of the long lines that fans stood in to take pictures. Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury will officially go on display at Madame Tussauds on October 14th for all to see.
So, with Nick Fury on deck con attendees had the chance to be photographed with either him or Captain America to complete the experience! And let’s just say that it didn’t disappoint one bit as the line grew as soon as the unveiling took place, and fans rushed to have their pictures taken with Fury and Cap!
From here it was just time to start taking it all in, and from Archaia to Image to BOOM! it was obvious everyone was bringing their A game for the fans! As impressive as their amount of product for the fans to purchase was the readiness and dedication of their staff to make things as easy as possible. Creators were also on hand to chat it up with fans, sign issues, and share a few laughs throughout the day. Though with a noticeably smaller display area than last year, Marvel was also there to make sure they weren’t overlooked. Marvel’s big eye catcher was Agent Coulson’s most treasured mode of transportation, Lola. Seen in the new Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. television series this beautiful automobile was displayed in all of her glory for the fans to see…just as long as they didn’t touch her!
