Sony Pictures Has Tom Hardy as Venom

Lately, the internet, movie fans, and comic book fans have been buzzing for Tom Hardy (The Dark Knight Rises, Mad Max: Fury Road) being casted as Venom for the Sony superhero cinematic universe. I like Tom Hardy as an actor. He truly is one of the best actors working today. However, Sony has had a bad track record trying to develop a superhero cinematic universe. A track record so bad, that Marvel Studios stepped in to help. But Sony seems like they are so desperate to stand on their own. Sony wants to create a solo standalone Venom movie, to really kick things off the ground. But in my opinion, Tom Hardy as Venom and working with Sony, is not such a big deal as a majority of people are making it out to be.
