Paramount Pictures dropped a brand new Bumblebee trailer while most of us were sleeping and it’s just as every bit as great as the first one. Filled with G1 versions of Transformers like Starscream, Shockwave, Optimus Prime, and even Soundwave! So if you were wanting to see those versions on the big screen then you’ll be impressed with the end results. There’s even more John Cena if you can manage to see him.
The sixth film in the Transformers franchise is a soft reboot taking place in 1987 and giving off E.T. and Iron Giant vibes!
Bumblebee is directed by Travis Knight of Kubo and the Two Strings and Coraline fame. The film also stars Hailee Steinfeld, Pamela Adlon, John Cena, Jason Drucker, Jorge Lendeborg Jr., and Stephen Schneider. Also lending their voices will be Angela Bassett and Justin Therouxof as the Decepticon Triple Changers, Shatter and Dropkick. Of course Peter Cullen returns as the voice of Optimus Prime because it just wouldn’t be right without him!
The international trailer below has several more scenes included but it’s just as exciting as the domestic one released today.
Synopsis:
On the run in the year 1987, Bumblebee the Autobot seeks refuge in a junkyard in a small California beach town. Charlie, on the brink of turning 18 years old and trying to find her place in the world, soon discovers the battle-scarred and broken Bumblebee. When Charlie revives him, she quickly learns that this is no ordinary yellow Volkswagen.
Bumblebee opens in theaters on December 24th and you can let us know what you thought of the trailer in the comments below!
