It looks like IDW and Hasbro are at it again which is great news for comic fans! An announcement was made earlier today that the 80s cartoon, M.A.S.K., would be making it’s way over to comics later this year. Brandon Easton (Agent Carter, Watson & Holmes) will be penning the adventures of Mobile Armored Strike Kommand while Tony Vargas (Rot & Ruin) handles the visuals.
“This is a M.A.S.K. for the 21st century with a diverse team of specialists who are chosen for a top-secret program with a painful learning curve,” Brandon Easton tells USA Today. “Ultimately, each participant will have to choose a side — and no matter which side they choose, the consequences will be great.”

Joining other recent Hasbro additions to the IDW Publishing slate, ROM and Micronauts, M.A.S.K. will become the latest property to receive its own comic series.

This is where sophisticated stories meet cutting edge designs while not afraid to look in the rearview mirror and pay tribute to its origins. It is the editorial and creative team’s intention to focus attention on the multi-cultural heritage of the show, presenting a contemporary M.A.S.K. to fans in a unique, yet familiar, way.
