Not letting DC have all the fun at SDCC, Marvel gave fans some news on several of their upcoming films along with new hi-res logos for Black Panther and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 as well. The new logo for the third Thor film has a sleek retro look but that’s not all they had to show for the film. A certain gamma powered Avenger is sporting some very recognizable armor worthy of smashing gladiator style!
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 not only got a shiny new logo but Yondu (Micheal Rooker) has been announced as the newest member of the team. He’s even got a new look for his fin that is closer to his comic incarnation. It was also revealed that Kurt Russell will be playing Ego The Living Planet who will be Star Lord’s father! Sure it’s a much different origin than the comic but if the movies were a play by play of the books it would be a little boring. Some new concept art also seemed to reveal a character that looks a lot like Mantis but in the end will any of this news trump the awesomness that is Baby Groot?
Another Marvel film that has the masses at the ready is Black Panther! And if you weren’t aware then check out the #BlackPantherSoLit hashtag on Twitter and you’ll see just how ready the fans are for this movie. Not only is this film being directed by Ryan Coogler and Starring Chadwick Boseman as T’Challa/Black Panther. Other cast members include Michael B. Jordan who will play Erik Killmonger, Lupita Nyong’o as Nakia and recently announced was Danai Guria as Okoye! She will be the leader of the Dora Milage folks! Dani plays another kick-ass sword wielding character on a little zombie apocalypse show you might have heard of.
With the Doctor Strange movie release soon approaching it was no surprise that Marvel would have something for fans to gawk over. So with that here’s the second trailer for Doctor Strange which hits theaters November 4th! There’s a lot of talk of portals and the trailer shows off some very cool magical special effects. More characters show up and we even meet the big bad here in what looks to be a much better trailer than the first.
So much goodness from Marvel on the movie side of things but I’m going to go and cry in Wakandan right now!
