This Saturday, September 11, from 1pm-3pm, True Blood actor and writer of Archaia Comics’ new series Lucid, Michael McMillian, will be signing at Collector’s Paradise in Los Angeles!
McMillian will be signing copies of Lucid #1 and [most likely] some True Blood merchandise as well. On the show he plays the role of Steve Newlin, the somewhat crazy reverend of the Fellowship of the Sun, and with Lucid he makes his comic book writing debut! What’s cool though is that McMillian is no rookie to the genre, being a long time comic book fan. The series is illustrated by Anna Wieszczyk.
Check below for solicit info for Lucid (which came out yesterday!), plus a preview:
“Welcome to the world of LUCID, the highly anticipated, action-packed, pop-fantasy, four-issue miniseries that draws inspiration from the spy genre, Arthurian legend and 21st-century folklore! Dark forces are conspiring to prevent humankind from reaching its true potential. Thankfully, as newly appointed “Protector of the Realm,” Agent Matthew Dee uses his skills as a covert spy and Combat Mage to ensure America’s freedom from the grip of evil. In the debut issue: Who is Waylan Gheely, and what forbidden power has he stolen? What ancient evil, banished two millennia ago by Merlin himself, threatens to consume our dimension? What presence lurks in the shadows behind it all? And just who is The Secretary of Secrets?”
Lucid is Archaia’s first title published in association with Zachary Quinto (“Heroes,” “Star Trek”) and his company, Before the Door Pictures. I’m a huge fan of Archaia’s books as The Killer, Days Missing, Secret History, Titanium Rain, and Mouse Guard rank amongst some of my favorites from the company. They put out quality work and I hope to see you all at Collector’s Paradise this Saturday!
