Paint Job: Every figure in this series is successful in showing a simple but fine paint job. No bleeding lies anywhere and each color is as bright as the next. Big Barda’s costume especially looks poignant with the contrasting colors and textures throughout. The color is simple and flat – no brushstrokes or highlights are used anywhere, which contributes to its lack of depth. The paint is sharp and strong, but could use a little more shading to make it pop.
Sculpt: The sculpt is the highlight on this figure. The varying textures along the majority of her costume and armor parts look very fine. Her body shape is an accurate reflection of Big Barda’s (not too skinny), and her headpiece is phenomenal. The cape is also nicely done, successfully capturing a swooshing effect. Barda’s face looks pretty good as well – not too “girly,” but still feminine.
Durability: She feels incredibly solid and can stand on her own with or without the base. Durability a go!
Poseability: Big Barda features multiple points of articulation which allow her to wield her mega rod in all its glory, as well as cozy up to her hubby. The cape adds a bit of restriction but doesn’t hinder most of her poses.
Accessories: Big Barda comes with a nicely painted, sturdy base and her signature Mega Rod. Pretty solid.
What’s Awesome: She looks fantastic for a female in this particular series. The colors are bright and sharp, and the sculpt is very well done. Add in the fact that she’s sturdy and comes with a base, and you’ve got yourself an awesome figure!
What Sucks: The only thing that really sucks about this figure is the price I originally paid for it and the lack of depth painted onto her costume. The colors are already so bright and the sculpt is so textured that adding a bit of shading would really help this figure to stand out.
Overall: I give this figure a solid 4/5. Big Barda’s sturdy, has a fine paint job, and has a really nice sculpt. DC Direct did a solid job with this figure, and all the ones in the New Gods series. Paired with the others, she will make a great addition to your toy shelf.

I’ve always like Barda. I think there is something off about her eyes on this one though.
Love me some Kirby, but, yeah, the face is off a little.
The only thing that was a little off about this one to me was her eyes. They seem crossed for some reason. Oh, and every Kirby figure should come with a bag of Kirby Dots!
I initially thought the same, IS, but I’m pretty sure it’s just the shadow from her helmet.
