It’s been a very long time since I’ve read a Christmas Holiday comic book. So long, in fact, that I can’t remember the last one I did read. I think the reason I don’t get all hyped up about these types of things is because I’ve been ruined by other companies that put out a book like this but jam it full of crappy stories that don’t have any effect or amount to anything. Nothing could be farther from the truth with this book. In the pages of this 48 page monster, we see a burgeoning young actress that has a bit of an attitude to go along with her good looks. Yes, a diva you might say, but in the pages of this book, she’ll learn a lesson Grimm Fairy Tales style that she’ll never forget. We’re talking full on, Charles Dickens style here, and Elizabeth (the main character) is caught up in a whirlwind inside her own mind…or is she?
Wow, so, I really enjoyed this book. I know some people will say it’s very cliche’, but so what? It has all the elements of a good story (based off of Dickens), good characters, good setting, and a cool twist on the original story. Tedesco and Shand do a good job at selling the angle that they’ve chosen. Again, nothing ground breaking, but a “feel good” story for sure.
There were a few different artist on this book, and I’m not a fan of that, but they collectively do a serviceable job. Again, not a fan, though. The first part of the story was good, but then it went downhill for a bit. The covers are awesome as usual, which is what you’d expect with the big guns they have for those (EBas, Sejic – alternate cover below, Debalfo).

If you’re looking for something with a little entertainment value this holiday season, and you don’t know what to buy, then pick this book up. If for nothing else than it might make you feel better when you finish. Rating 3.5/5
