Dark Horse Reviews: Devil #4

Devil #4
Publisher: Dark Horse Comics
Writer: Torajiro Kishi and MADHOUSE Studios
Artist: Torajiro Kishi and MADHOUSE Studios
AAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This is it! The end of Devil?!?!? The final issue of the mini-series was unleashed upon stands this week and to much anticipation (and wishing this was an ongoing and not just a mini) closes the series with a bang, delivering all the notes on key that we’ve come to expect, love and cherish about this blood splattering-good mini-series!
Since this is the final issue, I’m going to try really hard to keep it spoiler free and just say the following: From the start, to a very unexpected twist in the middle, to the final page, Kishi, Madhouse and Dark Horse illustrate why they have produced the finest mini-series to hit stands this year. The action is non-stop in this issue. Art-wise it  flows perfectly and is a beautiful orgasm of  gore, brutality and explosions at the peek of excellent comic book execution. Writing-wise the mini ends on a swan song note, giving us what we want, twists we didn’t expect and the pure joy of a satisfying wrap up to the story.
If you haven’t read Devil yet, now that the mini-series is complete, you have no excuse to not go on this roller-coaster ride of rock.
A side note to Kishi, Madhouse and Dark Horse: you have to do another guys. The story lends itself to spin-offs and with such a rocking time with this tale, it’d be a damn shame and waste of talent to not revisit the world of Devil one day again.
Pick up the final issue of 2010’s best mini-series today.

Hopefully it will have sold enough to warrant an ongoing. 😀
