From the moment she was introduced, Harper Row’s character has been surrounded by drama, whether it is personal or Batman related, and her current predicament is no different. While investigating the cause of sick/missing children, Red Robin, Batgirl, and Red Hood, have found themselves to be mind controlled by the Mad Hatter. Though not initially a fan of Harper, the character is beginning to grow on me. Initially, her introduction had seemed too unnecessarily similar to the origins of the Robins, and it was all rather heavy handed. However, with this series, she has had more face time giving her character room to grow and develop into a more well-rounded and likeable character. 4/5

One of the best new comic series from last year continues to be wonderfully entertaining. Spyral continues to be an endless tunnel of confusion, with their true agenda still a mystery. Helena Bertinelli, or at least this version of her, continues to be an impressively strong and independent character. Tim Seeley and Tom King are doing a fantastic job with this title. Together they’ve managed to take Dick Grayson, the boy Wonder, and transition him into Agent 37, international spy, without losing the many great qualities that make him special. The series is done remarkably well overall and can alternate between having Grayson nearly sacrifice his life for a baby, to having his ass checked out by the Midnighter in this issue. It effortlessly alternates from being serious to lighthearted and vice versa, resulting in a fantastic book. 4.5/5
