When you are arguably the most powerful group of individuals in the world, selectivity regarding your members is a given. Which is what makes this issue that much more ridiculous. Simply put, this story is mess from start to finish. The first half of the story is just Wonder Woman reconfirming what Superman had already confirmed, the Bruce Wayne everyone knows and loves is gone, hopefully not for too long because Gordon has got to go. There is no point to this part of the story, unless Superman is no longer a reliable source of information now that he has lost most of his powers. The second half of the story is essentially the Justice League assisting in stopping the Mad Matter and inviting Gordon-Batman into the League. This choice is altogether ridiculous and pointless, considering Gordon has only been a superhero for months, he’s owned by the government, and there are a handful of other qualified heroes who would be great for the team, who aren’t just starting out. Gordon-Batman has officially become the virus that was once contained in the Bat-World, but has now spread out into the rest of the DC Universe. 1/5
Midnighter #5

Midnighter and Dick Grayson make an amazing team. For these past two issues Grayson has been guest appearing in the Midnighter series and it has been absolutely amazing comic book storytelling. The two of these characters are written absolutely perfectly. Steve Orlando continues to do an amazing job with characterization and storytelling. He has a great handle on Midnighter’s character and Grayson as well. Their character interaction and banter is entertaining and feels organic. Even though this is just the 5th issue of the series, Orlando writes these characters so well it’s as if he’s been writing them for years. This series has quickly become one of the DC’s best and it is largely due to Orlando’s story and direction for the series. 4/5

Am I really missing out on Grayson? I just haven’t liked him since he was Batman and though the super spy thing is cool I just couldn’t get into it.
My gut response is to say yes, lol. But keep in mind that Dick Grayson is easily my favorite comic character of all time, so…
But bias aside, Grayson has been great. And the spinoff (if it’s considered that) Midnighter has actually been quite good as well.
