Batman Annual #4 (DC)
Arnab: That was a surprisingly good issue. Oh wait, that’s right, no robot Gordon-Batman.
Martin: 4/5 stars. The best part, other than the art, is watching Alfred tap-dance to keep Bruce from remembering his past.
NickZ: Even an amnesiac Bruce Wayne is more interesting than robot Batman, Jim Gordon.
Book of Death: Fall of Harbinger #1 (Valiant)
Infinite Speech: If you’re not reading these Valiant titles then you’re missing out on the next big thing in comics!
Captain America: White #2 (Marvel)
Martin: 4/5 stars. Having Cap remembering his days & values in World War 2 is a perfect framing device to understand him.
Colder: Toss the Bones #1 (Dark Horse)
Infinite Speech: This series is creepy as hell and you never know what to expect from Tobin and Ferreyra so pick this up!
E is for Extinction #4 (Marvel)
NickZ: This is by far the worst Secret Wars series.
From Under Mountains #1 (Image)
Martin: 4.5/5 stars. A promising start to a unique fantasy series. I love the world-building & design aesthetics.
Ghostbusters: Get Real #4 (IDW)
Infinite Speech: This makes me want to watch the cartoon all over again!
Grayson Annual #2 (DC)
Arnab: This was just a nice standalone issue. Very fun.
Martin: 3.5/5 stars. A fun and humorous team-up with Dick and powerless Superman, but not a lot of depth to the story.
NickZ: Pretty meh meet up between Dick and Supes. Definitely not worth 5 bucks.
Hip Hop Family Tree #2 (Fantagraphics)
Infinite Speech: Ed Piskor tells the history of Hip Hop with flavor and classic comic book fashion!
Inferno #5 (Marvel)
NickZ: This was a really fun series although the X-Men would probably disagree.
Jem and the Holograms: Outrageous Annual #1 (IDW)
Infinite Speech: Fun collection of stories and great art along the way.
Justice League #44 (DC)
Infinite Speech: This storyline is one of the few bright spots coming from DC!
Martin: 4/5 stars. Fabok’s style really enhances this story, & using Wonder Woman as the narrator really works. Crazy ending!
NickZ: Had to pick my jaw up off the floor after reading this. The best DC event in ages!
M.O.D.O.K. Assassin #5 (Marvel)
NickZ: I have a feeling M.O.D.O.K.’s joy of killing is directly proportional to Chris Yost’s joy of writing this insane book!
Postal #7 (Top Cow/Image)
Infinite Speech: Creepy, tense, and suspenseful storytelling that pulls you in until the last page!
NickZ: Mark is one of the most interesting characters in comics. This series is a must read.
Sandman Overture #6 (Vertigo)
Martin: 5/5 stars. The creative team nail the ending of this, paying off long-time readers with the set-up for “Preludes.”
Sex #24 (Image)
NickZ: I think Saturn City could give Gotham a run for its money as being the most corrupt, gang infested city in comics.
Sons of the Devil #5 (Image)
NickZ: A compelling story with really great art! Pick up the trade next month before the series returns next year.
Spawn #256 (Image)
Infinite Speech: When Al Simmons wants you off the toilet just get off. Great issue w/ art from Jonboy AND Kudranski!
Superman #44 (DC)
Martin: 2/5 stars. Suffers from both script & art; including female characters that look male & covering already well-trodden ground.
X-Men’92 #4 (Marvel)
NickZ: Literally everything you loved about the ’90’s X-Men is in this one issue!
Zodiac Starforce #2 (Dark Horse)
Infinite Speech: Still having fun with these characters and it looks like I’m staying till the end!
