Angela: Asgard’s Assassin #6 (Marvel)
Infinite Speech: Phil Jimenez and Stephanie Hans are drawing the HEL out of this title! Gonna miss it during this Secret Wars event though.
Astro City #23 (Vertigo)
Martin: 5/5 stars. I’ve not enjoyed a comic this much for awhile. Perfect jumping-on point w/ excellent art & a fun new character.
Captain America & the Mighty Avengers #8 (Marvel)
Infinite Speech: Cage’s team slaps the Illuminati with some righteous truth!
Convergence #6 (DC)
Arnab: If only the whole series was as fun as this issue, this series wouldn’t be boring.
Martin: 3.5/5 stars. This is the best offering of the series to date (not including tie-ins), so hopefully it will finish strong.
Convergence Aquaman #2 (DC)
Martin: 3.5/5 stars. Pretty much “all-action, all-the-time” but it’s a well-scripted fight. Could’ve used 1 more issue.
Convergence Batman: Shadow of the Bat #2 (DC)
Martin: 3/5 stars. The problem here is that a longer story would’ve served better than a forced quick ending.
Convergence Catwoman #2 (DC)
Martin: 3.5/5 stars. I dig old-school purple Catwoman but Kingdom Come characters not by Alex Ross look too cartoonish.
Convergence Green Arrow #2 (DC)
Martin: 4/5 stars. Marx & Morales keep up standards they set in the 1st issue. Green Arrow is 1 of the better tie-ins.
Convergence Green Lantern: Parallax #2 (DC)
Martin: 3.5/5 stars. A weird ending but makes some sense considering the “true” Parallax story arc.
Convergence Justice League International #2 (DC)
Martin: 4/5 stars. My fave Convergence issue so far this week. Great story, art, humor, & “history.”
Convergence Suicide Squad #2 (DC)
Martin: 2.5/5 stars. Some odd art choices with dis-proportioned figures don’t help a story that has too much going on.
Convergence Superboy #2 (DC)
Martin: 4/5 stars. Continues the trend of last month’s issue. I’m not even a fan of 90’s Superboy & I really enjoyed this.
Convergence Supergirl: Matrix #2 (DC)
Martin: 4/5 stars. Yes, this is just a goofy humor-filled issue w/ little relevance to #Convergence. But it works.
Convergence Superman: Man of Steel #2 (DC)
Martin: 2.5/5 stars. Some interesting changes for Steel but nothing else much happens that’s important.
Darth Vader #5 (Marvel)
Infinite Speech: Vader and the Emperor have a really dysfunctional relationship. Really.
East of West #19 (Image)
Arnab: Babylon and Balloon is probably the most heart breaking story in this whole book.
Martin: 4/5 stars. A slow-down of the story to focus on Babylon & Balloon, with some interesting, disturbing results.
G.I. Joe: Snake Eyes, Agent of Cobra #5 (IDW)
Infinite Speech: Since Snake Eyes can’t scream I’ll do it for him. The only thing cool about this was Stormshadow’s new outfit.
Harrow County #1 (Dark Horse)
Infinite Speech: Bunn and Crook’s first issue will have me coming back and the phrase “Gimme some skin” just took on a whole new meaning.
Imperium #4 (Valiant)
Infinite Speech: This series is a movie just begging to be made! And why do aliens have to be so damn intrusive?
Lady Killer #5 (Dark Horse)
Infinite Speech: Fantastic way to wrap up this arc and leave us wanting more from Josie!
RunLoveKill #2 (Image)
Infinite Speech: No one parties harder than Rain in another solid issue for this series.
Saga #28 (Image)
Arnab: The Brand is kinda awesome. The Will needs to get fixed up. And that ending though.
Secret Wars #2 (Marvel)
Arnab: Hot damn Battleworld. And Doom. and the Thors!
Infinite Speech: Our first look at how things run on Battleworld and the Cabal shows up murdering people. Great issue!
Thor #8 (Marvel)
Infinite Speech: Aaron and Dauterman give us more than an identity reveal and I can’t wait for it to return after Secret Wars!
X-O Manowar #36 (Valiant)
Infinite Speech: Aric doesn’t take ‘no’ for an answer when it comes to war in another great issue!
