A-Force #2 (Marvel)
Infinite Speech: “This is New York City, and crap you don’t like happening is the status quo!” Thank you for this Thompson & Wilson!
Action Comics #49 (DC)
Martin: 4/5 stars. Although I’m tired of the de-powered Superman storyline, Pak, Kuder & Syaf make this one interesting.
Batgirl #48 (DC)
NickZ: Babs wanting Luke in his Batwing costume for their date is kinda kinky.
Batman Beyond #9 (DC)
NickZ: Wasn’t sure where this book would go after Brother Eye, but I like what I’ve seen so far. I’m definitely on board!
Batman: Detective Comics #49 (DC)
Arnab: The only decent Gordon-Batman arc tbh.
Martin: 4/5 stars. One of my favorite “Gordon as Batman” stories so far, focusing more on the “detective” part, as it should.
NickZ: A new pretty twisted/morbid villain to add the the Batman rogues. Great cover too!
Batman & Robin Eternal #18 (DC)
Arnab: What’s with all the shitting on Bruce these last couple years? Every new story is about Bruce keeping a secret from his Bat-fam. Come up with something new.
Martin: 2.5/5 stars. All of the “surprises” were telegraphed a long time, & the artwork is very inconsistent.
NickZ: This revelation is the first thing that I didn’t see coming since the series began. I’m interested to see what happens next.
Batman Europa #4 (DC)
Martin: 3.5/5 stars. The surrealistic art is a strong draw here, but the climax is a bit more mundane than I would have thought.
NickZ: This was a great series, I loved how the cities were characters in the story. Another great Batman/Joker story. I only wish that Jim Lee stayed on for the entire run.
Deadpool & the Merc$ for Money #1 (Marvel)
NickZ: This book was super hilarious, so many great jokes and gags!
Dejah Thoris #1 (Dynamite)
Infinite Speech: Frank J. Barbiere and Francesco Manna deliver a Dejah Thoris story that anyone can get into and enjoy!
Doctor Strange #5 (Marvel)
Infinite Speech: Damn! This feels like it should be an event but so glad it’s not. Marvel is making magic fun again!
NickZ: This book is crazy good! Jason Aaron and Chris Bachalo are killing it with every issue!
Guardians of Infinity #3 (Marvel)
Infinite Speech: I only picked it up for the creative team and was not disappointed!
Howard the Duck #4 (Marvel)
NickZ: So much cosmic goodness in this issue!
Klaus #3 (Boom!)
Martin: 4/5 stars I’m enjoying this “Santa Claus: Year 1” tale, but I’m a sucker for Xmas. Great art & a look at some creepy stuff to come
Mystery Girl #3 (Dark Horse)
Infinite Speech: This series is another hit and we’re going to need more from Paul Tobin and Alberto Jimenez Alburquerque!
Obi-Wan & Anakin #2 (Marvel)
NickZ: This is shaping to be a really great story and Checchetto’s art is fantastic! Obi-Wan is quite the badass!
Paper Girls #5 (Image)
NickZ: This book is insane, but so freaking rad! Great Sci-Fi stuff going on here.
Rocket Raccoon and Groot #2 (Marvel)
NickZ: Groot brings us up to speed on the amazing adventure that’s been his life for the past few months.
Spawn #260 (Image)
Infinite Speech: This book was great until that one little thing happened and almost ruined it for me.
Spider-Man #1 (Marvel)
Infinite Speech: The original creative team hasn’t missed a step as they bring Miles to the core Marvel Universe!
The Uncanny Avengers #5 (Marvel)
NickZ: The best issue of the series so far but I totally saw that twist ending coming right from the start.
The Uncanny X-Men #3 (Marvel)
NickZ: Ugh, not as bad as the first two issues but this team still makes no sense to me.
Velvet #13 (Image)
Martin: 4/5 stars. Such a fantastic title with beautiful art but it did take me quite a while to try to remember what happened last time.
The Walking Dead #151 (Image)
Arnab: He keeps showing up, at this point I’m just waiting for Negan to get out of jail.
We are Robin #8 (DC)
Arnab: I get the whole juxtaposition deal with Duke and Joker-lite, but it would’ve been better without Joker-lite.
Martin: 3/5 stars. I would prefer if this had focused more on the Robins instead of the ham-handed origin of a new Joker knock-off.
NickZ: This was a surprisingly dark and depressing issue. It was interesting to see the dichotomy tho.
The Woods #20 (Boom!)
NickZ: This book is Lord of the Flies on crack! (In the best possible way) These kids are coming into their own in the worst possible circumstances.
X-O Manowar #44 (Valiant)
Infinite Speech: Aric & Ninjak are the best Valiant duo next to Archer & Armstrong! And whenever Aric says “Lady Colonel” I have to laugh!
