Batman #78 (DC)
Arnab: Tom King writes such a great Cat and Bat.
Infinite Speech: This is Batman and Catwoman finally settling some things but still feels like a filler episode of Naruto.

Detective Comics #1011 (DC)
Martin:
4/5 stars. Entertaining & different. I like the 2 new characters for this short arc. Ending was great & didn’t fall into the trap of needing to kill off the new characters. Curious if Deadshot will put 2 & 2 together since Batman ended up on the island…

Event Leviathan #4 (DC)
Martin:
4.5/5 stars. While we’re in issue 4 of a 6-issue series and we still don’t have many clues as to who Leviathan is, this spy story that involves a huge cast of characters, including one of my favorites, Silencer, is very gripping. Last page is awesome.

Flash #78 (DC)
Martin:
4/5 stars. I’ve not always been a huge fan of the different forces because I feel it distracts from the Speed Force. But, this arc with the Black Flash hunting them down is quite compelling, as is the Year of the Villain bits with the Rogues getting back together.

Gotham City Monsters #1 (DC)
Martin:
4/5 stars. It’s cool to see a return to Monster Town from the “Night of the Monsters” arc, and a ton of fun to mix together Killer Croc, Frankenstein, Andrew Bennett (I, Vampire), Orca, and Lady Clayface. Cool concept and a great story so far.

Hit Girl Season 2 #8 (Image)
Infinite Speech: Meh.

Ironheart #10 (Marvel)
Infinite Speech: I need Riri and Shuri to develop a great friendship after this arc wraps! Like how Storm and Jean are best friends over the years, that needs to happen here!

Isola #9 (Image)
Infinite Speech:
This is fantasy done right!

Justice League Odyssey #13 (DC)
Martin: 3.5/5 stars. I’m so tired of the old bait-and-switch of characters dying but then being brought back, but in this case I’m glad this character’s back. There’s a whole new group of characters this issue, which adds some much needed oomph to this book.

Kick-Ass #17 (Image)
Infinite Speech: This is going to go soooo bad for our heroine. I just know it.

King Thor #1 (Marvel)
Infinite Speech:
Ever wanted to see someone use their entrails to strangle their adversary before hurling them into the sun? This is that issue.

Livewire #10 (Valiant)
Infinite Speech:
Livewire is being played hard but the “thoughts and prayers diet” had me laughing way too hard.

Miles Morales: Spider-Man #10 (Marvel)
Infinite Speech:
Now THAT would have been a better reveal of the 616 Miles than the one we got in that mini series.

Postal: Deliverance #3 (Top Cow)
Infinite Speech:
Postal has been one the best drama/thrillers in modern comics and this new chapter is no different!

Powers of X #4 (Marvel)
Arnab:
Honestly, anytime Sinister makes an appearance in a comic, you know bad times are ahead for House Summers.
Infinite Speech: Mr. Sinister is that family member that comes around ONLY to add gasoline to the fire then laugh at the mess happening around him.

Ronin Island #6 (BOOM!)
Infinite Speech:
I’m torn between wanting the Shogun to grow and learn from his ignorance or just letting him get torn apart by the monsters.

Wonder Twins #7 (DC)
Martin:
4/5 stars. This new arc starts off surprisingly less cheerful & tongue-in-cheek than the last arc, but it’s still really good. Russell uses humor as a way to tone down a more cynical view of humanity, & includes a great conversation with Superman & Jayna.

Wonder Woman #78 (DC)
Martin:
4/5 stars. I haven’t seen Diana this down for a long time. She almost always has the upper hand in combat, so it’s actually refreshing to read a complex story like this regarding the “death of Love” that affects her in ways that have a big impact on her.

Young Justice #8 (DC)
Martin:
4/5 stars. Great action & snappy dialogue. Having the team thrown into different earths of the multiverse is a ton of fun, but as the opening says each issue, the team still don’t know HOW they know each other; that needs to be dealt with soon.
