When most of us look back what do you remember most about your childhood? Family? Friends? Those are great but what I remember most is sitting in front of a tv screen afternoons after school and on Saturday mornings with a bowl of cereal, like super early 6 am at times, watching cartoons. Back in my day cartoons use to come on local over the air TV as well as cable. As years have gone by most of those shows have come and gone but are not lost to time. VRV has brought some of them back via their assortment of channels for the kid in you.
In their space VRV is more then just anime and Crunchyroll it is a whole host specialized channels representing anime with Crunchyroll and Funimation, Nick toons with Nicksplat, indie cartoons with Cartoon Hangover, exclusive nowhere you can find online shows like Swatcats, Freakazoid and Killsjoys on the VRV selects channel. With so much content VRV is bursting at the seams and decided to opt for it own site outside of the NYCC contention space.
VRV presented a gallery art show, shop, and cereal bar. Yes you could pour yourself a bowl of Lucky Charms, Coco Puffs or Captain Crunch and a milk beverage plop down on one of the bean bags or inflatable chairs and catch up on a classic show on video screens. Throughout the space VRV displayed art based on their logo as they teamed up with artist such as a Michael Manomivbul, Robbi Rodriguez, Ulises Farinas, and Jenn Woodall among others.
Aside from the art guest could take a dive into a huge bowl of Lucky Charms cereal.
With all the new acquisitions and adds to VRV’s line up I can see myself #childhoodingwithVRV for quite some time.
