He’s not the same man he was before. He’s not sure who he is. He’s not that other guy either. He’s got a lot of questions, a sailor hat, and a Stand, but no clue as to who he is. So who is Josuke Higashikata this time? He’d like to know too! Let’s try and find out!
In the town of Morioh, strange walls of earth have been forming overnight; kids are calling them Wall Eyes, they’re rumored to give you super powers if you get too close to them. One such Wall Eye had a young man passed out near one, wearing nothing but a sailor hat. He would be found by Yasuho Hirose, who would help him and give him the name Josuke, saying he looked like a Josuke.
The two would begin trying to figure out who Josuke was by following whatever clues they could find. His hat had the name of a clothing store on the inside hem as their first clue. The business would reveal that this hat was sold to one Yoshikage Kira and gave his address. This would be where Josuke would find the rest of his sailor suit as well as a kidnapped woman. Yasuho would think the worst of Josuke and flee, while the woman would explain to him they had both been kidnapped but he had gotten away and she’d hoped he’d return to rescue her.
Things only get more complicated as it turns out the kidnapper was a Stand user who could control people underneath him, which works perfectly if you live in the room above where you keep your victims. Josuke’s own Stand had literally been bubbling up to help him out here and there and when it came time to save him from this kidnapper, Soft & Wet would fully manifest. Soft & Wet’s power allowed Josuke to emit bubbles that could delete or remove things from a target, like water to cause thirst, sound from a room, or sight from someone’s eyes.
It was stealing the kidnapper’s sight that saved Josuke, where he learned that the kidnapper had taken Josuke and the woman because he had believed Josuke was Yoshikage Kira. Josuke does, in fact, look and dress similar to this man. The kidnapper admits he had kidnapped the two to frame Kira for the kidnapping. Yasuho learns the truth and rejoins Josuke in his search for his identity, the two learn that this Kira was last seen near a Wall Eye but find his corpse, having died of cardiac arrest.
Finding themselves in a literal dead end, Yasuho would take Josuke to stay with her friends, the Higashikata family, who were used to strange phenomenon. So welcomed was Josuke into the family, they lent him their last name until he can find his own. Having a friend and family willing to back him up, Josuke Higashikata was ready to find out his true identity and what ties Yoshikage Kira has to him. A new Josuke’s bizarre adventure was about to begin.
There you have it! Unlike the other JoJos, Josuke’s bizarre adventure is currently ongoing, so even more mystery awaits readers as even I can’t tell you what happens after a point. Guess you’ll have to pick it up to find out who Josuke really is. See you next time!
