It feels like we’ve been waiting to see the Captain Marvel trailer for about as long as the MCU has been around and now it’s finally here! Anticipation rose even further after the Avengers: Infinity War post credit scene showing Nick Fury’s final moments as he sent the alert that she was needed back on Earth. Then again when we were finally shown several images from the movie showing off Captain Marvel in both her Kree uniform and the red, blue, and gold superhero outfit most fans know her by. We also got a look at the Skrulls, Starforce, and more.
The film is set in the 1990s and if the Blockbuster Video in the trailer didn’t let you know we’ll be going back a few decades then the site of a younger Nick Fury sans eyepatch should. Brie Larson stars as Carol Danvers/Captain Marvel and just from the little bit we see in the trailer she shows off considerable power. It also doesn’t have the feel of your average origin story as we see her already quite adept at using her skills but coming to Earth has stirred up some memories and those flashes are leading to more questions.
There’s plenty of eye candy here and those sharp eyed fans will easily spot some of the easter eggs scattered throughout. However we’ll have to wait a bit longer to see how she fits into the current Avenger’s story but for now it’s all about Captain Marvel!
