Without going into too much detail, rest assured that loose ends will be tied up, allegiances will be broken, and magic will rule! In this action packed conclusion, Sudana and Hank battle Samsun in a fight to end all fights. Also, in the outer reaches of the Void realm, Hank and Allie are trying to stay alive themselves, and return to their plane of existence. Of course, the ruthless Samsun won’t allow that to happen, so it’s up to Hank, Sudana, and Sparkles the cat to get it done and save the universe!
Wow, has this series been a whirlwind! It’s been non-stop action and adventure from the first issue. Most people think at one point in time or another that they’re creative in some way. Well, I’m here to tell you that when you can start with a blank piece of paper and end up with a story like this, that’s when you know you are a great creator, as Vince Hernandez is. To mold a piece of clay into a vase, or a block of wood into an intricate figure, is something I’d compare it to. It’s really that well done, from the depth of the characters, the dialog, and the amount of interest maintained from one issue to the next; those are  the proving grounds for good writing for all books.
The artwork was parallel to the story throughout this series, as well. Khary Randolph did a fantastic job with these books. From the sexy Sudana, to the menacing Samsun, he just nailed it completely. Let us not forget about the great selection of covers for these books, too. Randolph and Siya Oum had most of the cool alternate covers, as well as the regular ones. This issue was no different. Everything is sleek and very accessible, the backgrounds are dark and the characters vibrant. A page or two may have been slightly too dark, but that’s about the only complaint anyone might muster. The cover by Randolph was solid, as was the one by Siya Oum (below).

Hopefully this will be released in trade, because it will be great to have all this story in one shot. Although, then you won’t get all of those great alternate covers, so that’s a counterpoint to consider. Hernandez also gave us a teaser for some future action, so that was the icing on top of the cake!  Again, kudos to Vince Hernandez, Khary Randolph, Siya Oum, and the rest of the crew for this gem of a book. If you’re looking for something not from the big two, then check out Aspen Comics! Their library (Executive Assistant, Broken Pieces, Dead Man’s Run, Fathom, Soulfire, etc.) is second to none! Rating 4.5/5
