At the Anime Expo 2010 in the Los Angeles Convention Center…

…this past July 4th Weekend.

You never knew who (actress/singer Christina Vee of Bandai’s girl band “K-On!” anime series)…

Photobucket

…or what…

Photobucket

Photobucket

you might see!

Photobucket

At panels…

Photobucket

…and on screen…

Photobucket

…you would see Vampires…

Photobucket

…Magicians…

Photobucket

…and Robots…oh my!

Photobucket

But what was most interesting was walking the Halls.

Even while shopping…

…or Sailor Girls…

…Angels…

…Vixens…

Some were not so easily categorized…

There came a point where distinctions of gender…

…and ethnicity began to fall away…

…and cease to exist all together.

Photobucket

Photobucket

Photobucket

Cosplay offers not only a space where people can re-invent themselves…

Photobucket

But allows those distinctions of sex, ethnicity, gender, and species to freely co-exist in all varieties and interact without fear.

    Very nice photos.

  2. Angie

Why are the photos link to the user ClariontheGreat on photobucket? Did you not take the photos?

  3. Infinite Speech

Always some of the best comstumes at Anime Cons, wow!

Angie, Clarion is me. This was my first time using the Comic Attack site and I’ve had all sorts of problems loading pictures. We’re still trying to figure out why.

Also. This is the whole photo essay. So if my beloved editor decides to post part 2, there will be additional pictures but it will pick up from where it says “Vixens” but may have different words. But the same conclusion.
