Welcome to Chirpin’ Tuesday Reviews! Here you can find out what we here at ComicAttack.net thought of this past week’s new books in 140 characters or less! Make sure to come back each week to see what we have to say about the latest comics!
Astonishing X-Men Xenogenesis #2 (Marvel)
Andy: I have officially re-named this series, “Emma’s Boobs Doing Really Weird Shit.”
Infinite Speech: Actually liked it better than the first issue but when I saw “ghost boxes” I began to like it a lot less.
Jeff: Ellis is connecting to old Excalibur stuff here which is good, but the art feels too caricatured for my taste.
Avengers Academy #1 (Marvel)
Andy: Wow, this was actually pretty good. It’s expo heavy, but that’s expected. It has a serious YOUNG X-MEN vibe, which I dig.
Aron: This has the potential to be as fun as the post-Civil War NEW WARRIORS series was at first. It also has the potential to suck just as bad as that series did, towards its end.
Batgirl #11 (DC)
Andrew: Bryan Q. Miller gives Batgirl such a great, fun voice. I love this book.
Andy: Can we put Calculator away for good now?…please?
Batman #700 (DC)
Andy: Kick. Ass. When’s futuristic Damian as Batman getting his own ongoing?
Andrew: Loved every page of this issue. a must read for all Batman fans.
Aron: Thanks for not getting crazy, Mr. Morrison! This was a great read. Happy 700!
Eli: The extra artwork in the back of this issue makes this a great book all by itself!
Infinite Speech: This time hopping adventure was a pretty good read. I guess that’s the theme in some Bat-books now
Captain America #606 (Marvel)
Andy: Dark and creepy. Two shields up!
Aron: Very cool! Makes me kinda wonder about stuff in THUNDERBOLTS, though. Didn’t even touch the Nomad crap.
Infinite Speech: Falcon went from being the old Cap’s sidekick to being the new Cap’s babysitter? Good issue though.
Chew #11 (Image)
Andy: A perfect jumping on point for new readers, and my favorite issue to date!
Daredevil #507 (Marvel)
Andy: So awesome. I’ve never cared about Daredevil until Andy Diggle came along.
Andrew: Lots of great ninja action, but I’m glad this story has wrapped up.
Aron: Awesome ninja action! Shadowland is next! Time to bring the pain!
Infinite Speech: I’ve liked this arc for a while and now I’m definitely pumped for Shadowland!
Daytripper #7 (Vertigo)
Andy: On the whole this series has been beautifully told, but this issue was my least favorite of the lot…it felt too twisted and less touching.
Deadpool: Wade Wilson’s War #1 (Marvel)
Andy: “Hi I’m Deadpool! Ba-bada-bada!” …ugh.
Aron: Okay, I’m diggin’ it. Are you?
Fame: Lady Gaga (Bluewater)
Decapitated Dan: Did anyone tell Gaga she wouldn’t really be in this? Hope fans aren’t too disappointed.
Fraggle Rock #2 (Archaia)
Decapitated Dan: It was a fun read, but seeing legs on Fraggles and Muppets creeps me out!
Gen13 #36 (Wildstorm)
Decapitated Dan: Where is the Gen13 team? Glad I dropped this on a while back. Loved the Tranquility sneak peak though!
G.I. Joe/Cobra II #5 (IDW)
Andy: My favorite Joe title on the shelves. Check it out.
Hack/Slash #1 (Image)
Andy: Didn’t think I’d like it at all and I went into in with a “yeah right” frame of mind. But, I was pleasantly surprised! I’m onboard for #2!
Heralds #2 (Marvel)
Andy: I don’t get it, but my sick complexion of having to read any comic with an X-character in it overrules my better judgment.
Eli: Getting more interesting as more of the puzzle comes together.
Invincible Iron Man #27 (Marvel)
Andy: And the plot keeps moving along nicely. Not a lot of action, but it’s setting things up for the future!
Andrew: Lots of cool dialogue. Another solid chapter of the story, but I really want things to pick up.
Aron: Yawn!
Iron Man Noir #3 (Marvel)
Aron: CURVEBALL!
Jonah Hex #56 (DC)
Andrew: Hex is a cool character. This is a great starting point.
Justice League: Generation Lost #3 (DC)
Andy: I never thought I’d give two poops about these characters, but this series has been great so far!
META 4 #1 (Image)
Andy: What in the hell did I just read!?
Nemesis #2 (Icon)
Andy: So f-ing killer! The art. The pacing. It’s just highly entertaining!
Andrew: Sooo much action pure balls in one book. AWESOME!
Aron: What an evil prick! What an awesome comic!
Infinite Speech: A nice tidy little origin story that includes a lot of death. Loved the “riddle” lol
Jeff: Crime IS awesome! Liking this story more and more as we go!
Phineas & Ferb #2: Chron of Meap (DC)
Infinite Speech: Just like the cartoon, but in a book
Predators #1 (Dark Horse)
Infinite Speech: Predator + Soldiers = Death. Wash, rinse, repeat. Still a decent read so far.
Prince of Power #2 (Marvel)
Andy: Why do heroes always have to fight each other before they realize they’re on the same side? Yeesh.
Punisher MAX #8 (Marvel)
Andy: Thank you Jason Aaron for getting me into Punisher. If you’re liking this series, give Aaron’s SCALPED a whirl. Then go punch a stranger.
Aron: Bullseye, bullets, blood, and boobs. Good times!
S.H.I.E.L.D. #2 (Marvel)
Andy: Absolutely brilliant.
Terry Moore’s Echo #22 (Abstract Studios)
Andy: Moore’s art is stunning and he spins a great story too!
Titans #24 (DC)
Andy: The only cool part to me was the scene that took place in my hometown, Buffalo, NY…other then that it was pretty ‘meh’.
Ultimate Avengers 2 #3 (Marvel)
Andy: Read it in about 4 minutes, but that’s ok because it was really good.
Aron: Ghost Rider! ‘Nuff said.
Decapitated Dan: I feel cheated out of time on this one. Wanted it to be much better than it was.
Infinite Speech: Not some of Yu’s best work but that Cap/Punisher costume isn’t all that cool anyway
Ultimate Spider-Man #11 (Marvel)
Andy: Iceman is the shit!
Decapitated Dan: I love how Iceman is being written. This is one awesomely fun book!
Uncanny X-Men #525 (Marvel)
Andy: Finally, Iceman does something cool!
Andrew: Interesting read, but didn’t feel like I moved anywhere. Hurry it up already!
Aron: Fantomex crackin’ on the Watchmen movie. Classic!
Jeff: Terry Dodson makes me happy. Hoping that X-Force will wipe out the alternate futures altogether.
Uncle Scrooge #392 (BOOM Kids!)
Decapitated Dan: LAUNCHPAD! GLOMGOLD! BEAGLE BROTHERS! What Duck Tales characters aren’t here! Cool throwback read.
Unwritten #14 (Vertigo)
Andy: I’m confused…I’m really confused.
X-Men Forever 2 #1 (Marvel)
Andy: It’s things like this that lead me to believe there is no God.
X-Men: Hellbound #2 (Marvel)
Andy: What is this the Black Gambit Corps?
Infinite Speech: Not too sure how I felt about this one but Gambit’s Death persona looks like he’s gonna kick some ass.
Jeff: Gambit’s looking to be the hero here, even in his Death persona. Surprised by how this held my attention.

“X-Men Forever 2 #1 (Marvel)
Andy: It’s things like this that lead me to believe there is no God.”
This is the greatest thing I’ve ever heard.
Coming from Andy that quote seems a little backwards.
Apparently it was a good month for Iceman.
Bout time don’t ya think! No his contributions thus far in Ult. Spidery have been minimal, but his lines are just great.

I totally agrre with Andy about Shield #2 it was fantastic!
Iceman is one of the characters I’d like to see get more face time. It’s been a while since he did something significant and that’s a shame since he’s one of the teams original memebers.
So is Andy too old to audition for the cold one in the new X-Men: First Class?
Oh man, I wish. But yeah, I can only pull off 20 at the youngest, I think.
Why does Andy get to play Iceman over me? And in terms of the FC movie, wouldn’t Bobby be a baby?
Pingback: Dark Horse Reveiws: Predators #2
Well with all the hoopla over Glover wanting to play Spidey I figured I’d throw in my hat to play Iceman lol
