The Vader Project: One Last Hurrah!

The Vader Project: One Last Hurrah!

The Vader Project. No, it’s not something Senator Palpatine cooked up late one Friday night after bar hopping with Count Dooku on Polis Massa, but rather a unique art project that shows off the versatility of the baddest Sith Lord of them all!

The Vader Project is an art show that boasts 100 customized replica Darth Vader helmets, re-imagined by today’s hottest artists. For the last 4 years, The Vader Project has been showing off its goods in art museums and galleries across the globe, proving that the Dark Lord of the Sith has more artistic flare than Yoda, Obi-Wan, and Mace Windu combined. And after looking at some of these original works of art, how can you disagree?

Before the pieces go up for auction, the project is making its final tour stop this weekend in Los Angeles. The event features a 200 page, full color, limited edition catalog spotlighting each of the helmets. The gallery’s opening party takes place on Friday, June 11 from 6pm-10pm, with DJ’s spinning all night long adding to the exciting atmosphere. On Saturday, June 12 starting at 2pm will be a catalog signing with over 20 participating artists!

From June 12-20th the exhibit will be open to the public on a daily basis 12pm-6pm! The address is 6812 Melrose Ave, Los Angeles, CA 90036.

After this showing in LA, the helmets will travel to Freeman’s Auction House in Philadelphia where the starting bid on each piece will be $1,500. There will be a public showing at the Auction House from July 5-9 for one final hurrah, and the actual auction takes place on July 10. So don’t waste your final two opportunities to become one with the Force and view the The Vader Project in person, because in a month they’re going to be divvied up to the highest paying private collectors!

Said Simeon Lipman, the Pop Culture Specialist at Freeman’s: “The result is astounding. The sale will give members of the public the chance to purchase unique artworks made from these iconic symbols of the movie industry by a number of well known artists including Shag, Marc Ecko, Tim Biskup, Frank Kozik and many more.”
