Animosity #14 (AfterShock)
Infinite Speech: I wasn’t upset at what happened to Kyle but I’m hoping Sandor rescues Jesse!
Black Panther #1 (Marvel)
Infinite Speech: Coates and Acuna have me hooked with the Intergalactic Empire of Wakanda and I can’t wait to see how this plays out.
Detective Comics #981 (DC)
Martin: 4.5/5 stars. A great conclusion to Tynion’s run. I’m excited to see where the series goes next, but for now I’m content in the way he handled Tim for this issue, especially as I’ve been critical of Tynion’s Tim Drake before.
Doctor Strange #390 (Marvel)
Infinite Speech: Never thought I’d be this invested in a Doc Strange comic but this was a perfect ending from Cates and Irving!
Executive Assistant: Iris #1 (Aspen)
Infinite Speech: Northcott immediately pulls me back into the world of Iris and you should join in if you haven’t already!
Falcon #8 (Marvel)
Infinite Speech: HOLY $#!& Redwing FTW!!!
Flash #47 (DC)
Infinite Speech: This issue had me all over the place! The cliffhanger was solid but I’m still annoyed by OG Wally though.
Martin: 4/5 stars. The Flash War begins, and it’s not quite what I thought it was going to be, but in a good way. I’m still not thrilled with Barry’s characterization which is why I knocked the score down a peg, but everything else in this is great.
Hit-Girl #4 (Image)
Infinite Speech: It was a brutal and insanely fun PSA about not joining a gang!
Incognegro: Renaissance #4 (Dark Horse)
Infinite Speech: Johnson is doing some fantastic work with this series and as great as it is on paper I’d love to see this on tv!
Justice League: No Justice #3 (DC)
Infinite Speech: With one issue left this does not look good for the heroes.
Martin: 4/5 stars. The character interactions are the main draw of this series, as opposed to the hackneyed “big huge bad guys are coming to destroy the earth” plot. Starro the Conqueror has been a ton of fun in this – way more than I was expecting.
Shadowman #3 (Valiant)
Infinite Speech: The art in this issue from Segovia and Pollina is killer! No pun intended!
Silencer #5 (DC)
Infinite Speech: This is the ONLY series that’s blowing me away with this New Age of Heroes lineup.
Martin: 4/5 stars. This is definitely becoming one of my favorite New Age of Heroes books. The “conversation” between Honor and Deathstroke was handled so well, in terms of art, dialogue, and staging. The series is starting to add more character to Honor, which is great.
Super Sons #16 (DC)
Martin: 3.5/5 stars. I’m sad to see this series end, as I liked the interaction between Jon & Damian. This isn’t the best issue of the series for a variety of reasons, but still highlights the interesting partnership between the 2 boys. Dustin Nguyen variant covers FTW!
Terrifics #4 (DC)
Infinite Speech: This was a much better issue than the last 3 but that’s not saying much.
Martin: 4/5 stars. A really great issue, partially due to Doc Shaner’s spectacular art, but also from the plot moving along and not dragging out Phantom Girl’s return home any longer than it needed to. Metamorpho & Plastic Man are great together.
Wonder Woman #47 (DC)
Martin: 2.5/5 stars. Aside from some good-looking action scenes between Diana and Kara, nothing else in this issue really works. There is a bit of an intriguing ending involving the Star Sapphires, but that can’t save a sadly Jason-focused issue.
X-O Manowar #15 (Valiant)
Infinite Speech: A look back into Aric’s past that’s as much fun as it is to see him blowing stuff up in his armor! This series is finding it’s legs again and I’m one happy reader!

How do you not like the original Wally West?????
