Bane Conquest #2 (DC)
NickZ: This book finally gets interesting as Bane and Batman are forced into an uneasy alliance.
Batman #24 (DC)
Martin: 5/5 stars. So much to love, including King’s script, the gorgeous art by Finch, Mann, & Bellaire, and of course that last page!
NickZ: This moment was literally decades in the making and Tom King and David Finch made the wait worth every single second! #BatandCatForever
Champions #9 (Marvel)
NickZ: I’m excited to see the addition of a new hero of Mexican decent join the ranks.
Dark Knight III: The Master Race #9 (DC)
Martin: 4/5 stars. Given the ups & downs this series has had, this manages to be a satisfying conclusion.
Darth Vader #1 (Marvel)
Infinite Speech: A new Vader series that picks up after Ep III and he’s on a quest for a new lightsaber. A lot of people are about to die.
Doctor Strange #20 (Marvel)
Infinite Speech: For 20 straight issues Aaron and Bachelo made me a Doctor Strange fan and that’s a huge accomplishment. Lets hope this continues with the new creative team next issue.
NickZ: Jason Aaron and Chris Bachalo had a memorable, fantastically magical run on Doctor Strange. They will be missed.
Fall & Rise of Captain Atom #6 (DC)
Martin: 3/5 stars. Overall series was disappointing. While this issue ties things up, it’s just not that interesting
Green Arrow #24 (DC)
Martin: 4/5 stars. Ferreyra’s art is awesome in this, including a really cool spreads featuring Ollie crawling through the sewers.
Green Lanterns #24 (DC)
Martin: 3.5/5 stars. This has been 1 of my faves due to Humphries’ characterizations of Jess & Baz, but this issue was a bit off
Hasbro Heroes Sourcebook #1 (IDW)
Infinite Speech: Get to know these characters all over again or for the very first time but either way you’ll enjoy the info!
Hawkeye #7 (Marvel)
NickZ: Kate’s family really has some baggage, I’m glad she has pizza dog to help her get through it.
Iceman #1 (Marvel)
Martin: 4/5 stars. A fun debut that explores a bit about Bobby being a mutant, a superhero, & a gay man. Hope for more depth on-going.
NickZ: Now this is how you do a first issue! This book is smart, fun, and socially relevant, a cant miss for X-Men fans!
Injection #13 (Image)
NickZ: The award for the creepiest cast of characters in comics has to go to Injection.
Injustice 2 #3 (DC)
Infinite Speech: Taylor is writing a fantastic tie-in to the video game that other video game tie-ins need to pay attention to!
Iron Fist #4 (Marvel)
Infinite Speech: Love the old school kung-fu vibe this series has and it feels as if Danny has purpose again. Pick this up!
Jem & The Holograms: The Misfits #5 (IDW)
Infinite Speech: Jetta has been my fave for years and I did NOT see that one coming!
Justice League #22 (DC)
Martin: 3.5/5 stars. A one-off that I wasn’t expecting. It’s not bad & there is some good characterization, but that’s about it.
NickZ: Am I the only one tired of these inept Green Lanterns?
Nightwing #22 (DC)
Martin: 3.5/5 stars. The art is great, particularly the opening scenes with Dick & Shawn. But the new villain isn’t very compelling.
NickZ: Dick has finally found some semblance of a regular life in Bludhaven, I hope it lasts at least for a little while.
Noble #2 (Lion Forge)
Infinite Speech: Two issues in and I’m hooked! I want more right now!
Outcast #28 (Image)
NickZ: Kyle and Reverend Anderson’s talk about “facts” being used to reaffirm your preconceived beliefs couldn’t be more timely.
Paper Girls #15 (Image)
NickZ: The girls done pulled a Barry Allen and f***ed up the timeline something fierce!
Predator: Hunters #2 (Dark Horse)
Infinite Speech: Do we deserve this much Predator goodness? Probably not but you should be reading this anyway!
ROM #11 (IDW)
Infinite Speech: Dare I say ROM is one of the best comics coming out of IDW right now!
Reborn #6 (Image)
NickZ: An amazingly imaginative story about the afterlife that is visually stunning thanks to Capullo, Glapion, and FCO!
Superman #24 (DC)
Martin: 3/5 stars. Art is good, but I’m not really a fan of the main villain. He just seems to be so stuck in the 90’s.
NickZ: Why does evil always want to corrupt the most purest of souls? Leave Jon ALONE!
Wonder Woman: Steve Trevor Special #1 (DC)
Martin: 2.5/5 stars. I’m not really sure what the point of this was, other than to cash in on the WW movie.
The Walking Dead #168 (Image)
NickZ: Dear Robert Kirkman, we will NEVER like or forgive Negan no matter how many good deeds he does.
X-Men Gold #5 (Marvel)
NickZ: When will people learn that their hatred of people who are different is ultimately self-defeating?
