A-Force #7 (Marvel)
Infinite Speech: This is a quiet little hit that puts some of the marquee titles to shame!
All-New Wolverine #10 (Marvel)
Infinite Speech: It took ten issues but THIS one was very good. Just need you new artists to STOP DRAWING LOGAN’S CLAWS BETWEEN HIS FINGERS!
NickZ: We need to have more of this Wolverine family action going on, maybe even throw in Daken to shake things up!
Aquaman #3 (DC)
Arnab: I feel like Aquaman turns himself over to U.S. authorities way too often. I wouldn’t trust his leadership either tbh.
Martin: 4/5 stars. I’m liking the story behind this political action thriller. Storywise this is better than #2. Art a bit inconsistent.
Astro City #37 (Vertigo)
Martin: 4.5/5 stars. Covers so many of my favorite topics, including Jazz Music and History. Clever look at American racism.
Batgirl & the Birds of Prey – Rebirth #1 (DC)
Martin: 3.5/5 stars. Works as a first intro issue to set up the background & the characters.
Batman #3 (DC)
Arnab: I can get behing Gotham and Gotham Girl, even if they have shit names.
Infinite Speech: zzZZZzzzz….
Martin:4/5 stars. Batman always gets some of the best talent! This story about the origin of Gotham & Gotham Girl is very well done.
NickZ: After getting some background story on Gotham and Gotham Girl, I feel better about their presence in Gotham.
Black Hammer #1 (Dark Horse)
Martin: 4.5/5 stars. Lemire never fails to impress. My “comic of the week” for characterization, story, & art.
Buffy the Vampire Slayer #29 (Dark Horse)
NickZ: NO! Tell me THAT did NOT just happen! Christos Gage is a monster! Even worse than D’Hoffryn!
Chew #56 (Image)
Arnab: Only 4 issues left. I’m not ready. T.T
NickZ: The final arc of Chew begins and I am in no way emotionally prepared for what is to come!
Darth Vader #23 (Marvel)
Infinite Speech: Gillen has been giving fans of Star Wars one of the best Vaders ever! Cold. Calculating. Not to be $#%$ with!
Deadpool & the Mercs For Money #1 (Marvel)
Infinite Speech: Confused about this issue and not in a good way. Seems like Deadpool forgot about being experimented on and shadowy scientist types.
NickZ: Negasonic Teenage Warhead shows up so, you know, it’s just like the movie now.
Faith #1 (Valiant)
Infinite Speech: This title deserved to become an ongoing series and this issue reinforces that!
Green Arrow #3 (DC)
Martin: 3.5/5 stars. This has been one of my favorite Rebirth series but this issues has some art and dialogue faults.
Green Lanterns #3 (DC)
Martin: 4/5 stars. I always have fun with Sam Humphries’ stories. The interaction & flaws between Simon & Jessica are great.
Hellblazer – Rebirth #1 (DC)
Martin: 3.5/5 stars. Lots of fun w/ everyone’s favorite smart-ass sorcerer & some 4th wall breaking. Hoping #1 adds depth.
Justice League #1 (DC)
Infinite Speech: A serious improvement over the Rebirth issue.
Martin: 3.5/5 stars. This is a big improvement over the Rebirth one-shot. It’s vaguely “Starro-esque” but that’s not a bad thing.
NickZ: This was much better than the Rebirth issue. Wonder Woman is such as beast!
Lazarus #23 (Image)
Martin: 4.5/5 stars. Art continues to be superb, & we get more pieces about Forever’s history. Plus a Lazarus on Lazarus sword fight!
Nighthawk #3 (Marvel)
Infinite Speech: Walker is pulling no punches in this series and delivering nothing but ultra combos!
Spider-Man #6 (Marvel)
Infinite Speech: You’re reading the best Spider-Man title out right now if you’re reading this!
Spider-Man/Deadpool #7 (Marvel)
Arnab: This is easily my favorite Deadpool book right now.
Superman #3 (DC)
Martin: 3.5/5 stars. Superman’s been great, but there’s a bit of a feeling this issue that you need to know pre-Flashpoint continuity.
NickZ: I haven’t been this excited by a Superman book in years! Jon is my new favorite character!
Tales From The Darkside #2 (IDW)
Infinite Speech: This story gets a little creepier and it’s great!
Think Tank: Creative Destruction #4 (Top Cow)
Infinite Speech: Damn! Hats off to Hawkins and Ekedale on this series that everyone should be reading!
NickZ: Volume 4 comes to a very dark, very real ending. I CANNOT recommend this book enough! February is too far away!
Thunderbolts #3 (Marvel)
Infinite Speech: Atlas had the best line in this issue but Cap can get a kick in the face.
Ultimates #9 (Marvel)
Infinite Speech: The art was just so/so here but the story itself was a good one!
Uncanny X-Men #10 (Marvel)
Infinite Speech: This is still a thing? Let’s stop trying to make this a thing.
Velvet #15 (Image)
Martin: 4/5 stars. The unevenness with this book’s shipping schedule ultimately hurt this book, which is too bad because it’s gorgeous.
