batman 52Batman #52
Publisher: DC
Writers: James Tynion IV
Artists: Riley Rossmo, Brian Level, FCO Plascencia, and Jordan Boyd
Cover Artists: Greg Capullo, Danny Miki, and FCO Plascencia

It’s a strange thing to consider this a finale, given the story is obviously going to continue, even if the numbering restarts. It’s even more strange, considering the last issue was a far better sendoff to the remarkable run by Scott Snyder and Greg Capullo, as well as Danny Miki and FCO. That being said, this issue does serve well as a bit of a segue between creative teams. The story adds a sweet twist to the Batman Origin we’ve all come to know. Bruce’s relationship with Alfred’s has always been one of, if not the most important relationship in Bruce’s life and issues such as this one, which highlight that importance, are always great to read and this one is no different. 4/5

batman tmnt 6Batman/Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles #6
Publisher: DC
Writers: James Tynion IV
Artists: Freddie E. Williams II and Jeremy Colwell
Cover Artists: Kevin Eastman

This Batman and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle crossover mini-series has been fantastic from the very first issue. James Tynion IV has done a remarkable job of blending two particularly popular franchises into one story while remaining true to the characters. While the final showdown is just a tad rushed, this issue still did a great job of finishing off the series. From Batman facing off a mutated version of his rogues gallery, to the Turtles risking their own lives to save Batman, down to Damian dismantling the League of Assassins, this issue showcased all of the heroes’ greatest qualities. 4/5
