Coming out next Wednesday, December 16th, is Fables #91 written by Bill Willingham with art by Mark Buckingham and Steve Leialoha. The issue is the conclusion to the “Witches” story arc, and the plot will most likely thicken as the Fables try to wrestle Fabletown from the control of the evil Mr. Dark. Other burning questions surround the Fables: Will the monkey Bufkin be able to succeed in his quest to take down Baba Yaga? What’s Frau Totenkinder really up to? What scheme is Gepetto devising behind everyone else’s back? And will Rose Red finally step up to the plate after the tragic loss of Boy Blue?
Fables is in continual rotation with The Walking Dead and Uncanny X-Men as my favorite title currently being published. It’s a great adult take on legendary characters and always has the reader excited for what’s coming next. “Witches” is the first story arc to follow this past summers “The Great Fables Crossover” and so far it has ridden that wake quite nicely! If you aren’t reading Fables and wish to remedy that problem, I suggest beginning at the beginning and check out vol. 1 and vol. 2 in trade paperback and to keep going from there!

This series looks really well done. That cover kind of creeps me out a little.
I like Fables a lot. I like seeing what people or characters are like behind the scenes. It’s kind of like reality tv, they’re both fictional and addicting!
I’ve been told that i’m missing out by not getting this series…guess i’ll have to pick up some trades and see whats up!
You’ve been told correctly! Begin with #1 and #2 simultaneously and you’ll be hooked!
