The first arc of Tech Jacket wraps up, and Keatinge makes sure that you’ll want to come back to see how it all plays out! With Crowe now legally the owner of the Tech Jacket worn by Zach, he’s going to want to know how it works. Unfortunately for him, the events of the last few issues have changed the suit in ways he and his team don’t understand. So getting it off of Zach is going to be pretty hard, but even harder with the alien invasion that is taking place in the lab.

Keatinge has kept Tech Jacket exciting, unpredictable, and fun since the series began. All of that is present here as he wraps up the first arc of the series and ends it with quite a few surprises. He not only puts Zach back in control of the armor, but we get to see some new abilities in the process. The action remains big and catastrophic just like you’d expect when dealing with alien invasions, mech suits, and robots! Though, as big as the action is, Keatinge makes sure that the story isn’t lost in all of the explosions and debris. There are solid characters on both sides who get better with almost every issue. Sometimes it would be nice to see a bit more character development along the way, but when the trade off is Khary Randolph and Emilio Lopez blowing things up it’s kind of forgivable.

Speaking of the art, it has been an awesome display of talent so far, and hopefully Randolph and Lopez stay on Tech Jacket for some time. This issue is just as good as the last, as the art team cranks things up past ten for the arc’s finale. Everything about this issue’s look was kinetic and fluid, and though a bit chaotic at times, Randolph still keeps a nice flow to the action sequences. He also nails the suspense in the issue, especially during the power move pulled off by one of the characters. Though one of the best panels has to be when Zach pulls out his BFG and just annihilates a wave of bad guys.

Even with the arc ending, there’s a very big reveal at the end that hints at how dire the situation is getting. Not only that, but it seems as if there’s been a change in leadership, which is also going to  cause some problems. So as good as this first arc has been, let’s hope all of this carries over to the next and it’s just as exciting!
