It was revealed to readers a while back that Catwoman was going to end up the ruler of Gotham’s criminal gangs, and her transition from common thief to kingpin starts right here. The writers have done a good job of slowly building up to this moment, and this issue really kicks it up a notch or two. It’s going to be exciting to see Catwoman receive help from her estranged father, The Lion, but it will also be interesting to see whether or not the Lion will be willing to let his daughter take the lead. While Hush is still the major threat, he actually ends up being a secondary problem in this issue, and that works out really well with respect to how this series has played out since the beginning. The multiple plot lines that run alongside one another, often intertwining, is integral in why this series has been able to maintain its momentum for so long. 4/5
Batman and Robin #35

While it is far from being a perfect issue, this book illustrates the Bat-family perfectly. No matter what has happened and no matter whose feelings have been hurt, when push comes to shove, they’re there for one another. Tim, Barbara, and Jason coming back to help Bruce is about as mushy as you’re going to get in a Bat-book, and the fact that this is all for Damian, a kid all three of them had problems with in the past, makes this even more touching. The Robin Army is one of the coolest things ever, and the only thing missing was Dick. In fact, this would be a great time for him to reveal that he’s actually not dead to the rest of the family. The only minor negative detail about this issue is that not much really happens to push the story forward, other than the trio plus Cyborg taking a trip to Apokolips. 4/5
