Action Comics: Futures End #1 (DC)
Infinite Speech: Don’t see what the hype is all about but it was okay.
Martin: 3/5 stars. A nice, somewhat heart-warming story but unfortunately doesn’t tie-in well enough to Futures End.
All-New Doop #5 (Marvel)
NickZ: I Still have no idea what the point of this book was but it was weird enough to keep my interest.
All-New X-Factor #13 (Marvel)
Infinite Speech: You’re not reading this? Change that NOW!
NickZ: It’s nice to see Quicksilver owning up to his past and dealing with his ex and daughter.
Angel & Faith #6 (Dark Horse)
NickZ: Faith is finally back and in a familiar position and Angel has to know that he can’t trust Amy or do what she’s asking.
Aquaman: Futures End #1 (DC)
Arnab: Kick is a** Mera.
Martin: 3/5 stars. A bit confusing as a one-off story if you’re not reading the main title, and tons of expository dialogue.
Avengers World #12 (Marvel)
Infinite Speech: How many chances has Black Knight had to be on a superhero team?
Batman: Detective Comics: Futures End #1 (DC)
Arnab: Hrmm…
Martin: 3.5/5 stars. Interesting one-off story that doesn’t really fit Futures End & shows Batman out-of-character.
NickZ: Talk about your twist endings! I’m not sure if that was a very Batman thing to do or not?
Batman Eternal #22 (DC)
Arnab: This book has had too many guest star villains.
Martin: 4/5 stars. Some really great stuff between Batman and the Pennyworths but the “big reveal” was a rehash of last week.
NickZ: The art was horrible but I do like how they are bringing characters from the recent past back to haunt Bruce.
Batwing Futures End #1 (DC)
NickZ: This was an awesome little swan song for Batwing and Batman Inc.
Black Widow #10 (Marvel)
Jeff: The dialogue in this issue is so sparse that I felt like I got cheated out of some pages. Luckily, Noto does a great job with the art.
Captain America #24 (Marvel)
Infinite Speech: Are all those people who were angry at Remender for “killing” Sharon Carter going to apologize? Turned out the villain in the story lied! *gasp*
NickZ: This was the first Cap book i’ve read in years. I was shocked that it was actually pretty good!
Cloaks #1 (BOOM!)
Infinite Speech: Another new series from BOOM! that deserves your attention!
Concrete Park: R-E-S-P-E-C-T #1 (Dark Horse)
Infinite Speech: A futuristic sci-fi adventure with criminals! What’s not to love here!
Death of Wolverine #1 (Marvel)
Infinite Speech: This is how Logan needs to go out! In a fury of blood and violence all drawn by McNiven!
Jeff: Charles Soule has made me enjoy a Wolverine comic again. This was really well done.
NickZ: So it looks like Wolverine is going to the die the same way he lived…being an idiot.
Earth 2: Futures End #1 (DC)
Infinite Speech: Mister Terrific just can’t win.
Martin: 3/5 stars. Oddly, none of the plot actually takes place on Earth 2. Michael Holt’s characterization seems off.
God Hates Astronauts #1 (Image)
Infinite Speech: Not sure if I liked it or not but I laughed a few times.
Grayson Futures End #1 (DC)
Arnab: Well done.
Infinite Speech: So even five years in the future this series will still be good.
Martin: 4/5 stars. Interesting reverse story structure showcases some great moments from Dick’s life. Art is off, though.
NickZ: There is an episode of Star Trek Voyager with Kes that is very similar to this. I’m gonna start using the cluemaster’s code. Maybe I’m doing it right now.
Green Arrow: Futures End #1 (DC)
Martin: 4.5/5 stars. One last treat from the awesome Green Arrow team of Lemire, Sorrentino, & Maiolo. Fantastic art!
Green Lantern: Futures End #1 (DC)
Martin: 4/5 stars. A really emotional story featuring Hal, a character we haven’t seen so far in the Futures End event.
Grendel vs. The Shadow #1 (Dark Horse)
Infinite Speech: Matt Wagner brings everything that’s great about Grendel and throws The Shadow in it!
Hawkeye vs. Deadpool #0 (Marvel)
NickZ: If you love the current Hawkeye book and/or the current Deadpool book, you will love this one!
Iron Fist: The Living Weapon #6 (Marvel)
Infinite Speech: Kaare Andrews has made this his definitive Iron Fist series and you should check it out!
Jeff: Andrews is making the definitive Iron Fist here, breaking him down only to build him up again.
Justice League #33 (DC)
Martin: 4/5 stars. The Doom Patrol are fun but they’re nearly forgotten by the end of the issue. Overall a nice close to the arc.
NickZ: Batman once again proves why he is literally better than than anyone else. Suck it Luthor.
Legendary Star-Lord #3 (Marvel)
Jeff: The Kitty Pryde/Peter Quill relationship feels strange to me.
Moon Knight #7 (Marvel)
NickZ: This was a great start for the new creative team but when you’re following Warren Ellis and Declan Shalvey’s run, no matter how good, it’s gonna feel like a let down.
New 52 Futures End #22 (DC)
Martin: 4/5 stars. This book is finally starting to get going to actually give us something to care about. Lots happening.
Original Sin #8 (Marvel)
Arnab: Meh, nothing amazing to see over here.
Infinite Speech: I didn’t see some of that coming and the fallout from this should be pretty damn cool!
Jeff: Some very interesting developments in the Marvel Universe here.
NickZ: They made a bigger deal out of this than needed to be but it did launch a lot of new story lines so I guess it works.
Rocket Raccoon #3 (Marvel)
Jeff: Skottie Young was born to draw Rocket and Groot.
NickZ: Rocket is just insane and this book is just insane and I am totally fine with that. Skottie Young is amazing on all fronts.
Spider-Man 2099 #3 (Marvel)
NickZ: Peter David and Will Sliney are doing an awesome job on this book. I’ve always found Miguel more interesting than Peter.
Southern Bastards #4 (Image)
Jeff: I got to the end and was like, “NO!” then that epilogue made me go “YES!”
Superior Foes of Spider-Man #15 (Marvel)
NickZ: I finally figured out why I like this book so much, It’s Hawkeye meets It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia. Two great tastes that taste great together.
Uncanny X-Men #25 (Marvel)
Arnab: Bobby Drake has never been more irrelevant than he is right now. He only makes an appearance to whine about Scott. Dude needs to move one, Xavier deserved to die.
Infinite Speech: We find out what Prof. X did and Iceman puts on his big boy pants. Still don’t know why it was part of Original Sin though.
Jeff: Why does anyone follow Xavier? On top of what he did to Danger, Vulcan and the “secret” X-Men, and now Matthew Malloy, I’m thinking Cyclops did him a favor by killing him.
NickZ: Why is everyone so shocked when they find out Xavier did something shady? He literally is one of the shadiest motherf***** in the Marvel Universe!
Usagi Yojimbo: Senso #2 (Dark Horse)
Infinite Speech: War of the Worlds type aliens meets animal samurai! THIS IS WHY I LOVE COMICS!!
Woods #5 (BOOM!)
Infinite Speech: This is a series that kind of hints that you might want to cut school on the day you think it’ll get sucked into another dimension.
X-Men #19 (Marvel)
Arnab: How come the good guys always have to be the one to forgive and forget. Rachel should burn the asshole and then demolish the rest of the Shi’Ar.
Infinite Speech: So the guy that suggested the Shi’Ar kill Rachel’s family is now stuck with her. Sucks for him.
Jeff: This book is getting back on track thanks to Guggenheim!
NickZ: There may just be a tad too many telepaths on this team.
