With Peter Parker finally back in control of his own body and mind, it’s time to put the pieces back together that Doc Ock has shifted around. With the revelation last issue that Anna Maria knows that he’s Spider-Man, Slott wastes no time in having the two address the elephant in the room. It’s the moments between these two that really steal the show in this issue. Sure there’s a huge fight with a very angry Electro, and even the appearance of Silk, but it’s how well Slott has developed Anna that makes this issue worth reading.

There’s also a very drastic plot reveal concerning the direction of Parker Industries. This is the point where things get a little “iffy” when you think how big of a commitment this is going to be from Peter. Though Slott has impressed in the past when it comes to big things from Parker, this decision seems to have little standing. Sure it may have been sparked from some guilt about Doc Ock’s actions, but it just seems like we’re to accept this grand gesture.

Is there anything that you can say about the art of Humberto Ramos that hasn’t been said in the decades he’s been bringing his visual style to comics? This issue is a visual treat whether characters are crashing through the city or just talking things out at the Statue of Liberty. And with Delgado’s colors enhancing everything it’s one of the better looking issues to come out this week.

Things are still action packed and fun regardless of the title change from Marvel. Slott really makes you want to come back for the next issue, especially with the subplots scattered throughout this one here. So do yourself a favor and give The Amazing Spider-Man a try!
