ComicAttack.net Pull List: 6/15/11

Another week and it’s time to go to our local stores for our fix of new comics! And here at ComicAttack.net, it’s time to look at what the staff will be reading this week, followed by each staffer’s individual pull list and their picks of the week! Take a look, it’s a great way to plan out what your trip to the comic shop should entail, and there might even be something you may have missed otherwise.

First up, though, we have our Books of the Week. This week we have Marvel’s Captain America #619 taking the top spot on our combined lists, while New Mutants #26 is the most popular book amongst our staff. On the small publisher side of things, Idea & Design Works’ Rocketeer Adventures #2 takes the top spot on our lists. Other favorites of our staff include Marvel’s X-Men Legacy #251, and DC’s Flashpoint: The Reverse Flash #1 Flashpoint: Lois Lane and the Resistance #1. Check below for more on these books and all the others we’re reading this week.

Please leave a comment, we would love to hear about what you are picking up, or what books you’re really looking forward to today.

  1. Planet of the Apes.
I’m still missing 2 but I’m picking up 3 because I loved the first!

    Namor.
Love what Stuart Moore’s been doing with what I think is a severley underated title!

  2. Creepy Volume 1 TPB
    Jesus Hates Zombies

I’ve decided I’m picking up these as well. 2 titles I’ve wanted to check out for some time now.

  3. and finally, Rocketeer Adventures #2 (and hopefully I can find #1).
I don’t want to neglect this series. I heard some great things about it, just today!

  4. Apes is great. The art really sells it, and the story isn’t half bad either. I was surprised at how much I enjoy the series, despite not seeing all the films.

Namor… oh Namor. It used to be good, and Moore had a plan, but that plan got chucked out the window months ago when we found out the book was getting the axe. I think he writes Namor like a pansy, and it doesn’t work. It worked in the Hell storyline, but not anymore.

Rocketeer, like Apes, was a book I didn’t expect to like but really did. Looking forward to #2 as well.

My recommendation would be Batman Gates of Gotham. So. Good.

  5. Waiting on the Apes to be in trade before I pick it up though it’s getting harder to wait because everyone keeps telling me it’s a great read. The fact that it’s from the original series is also a perfect selling point for me as well.
