Dark Horse is bringing back Mighty Samson this December! Now some of you are high-fiving in the Men’s Room and some of you are shaking your heads, saying “Who’s Mighty Samson?” For those of you who don’t know, Mighty Samson is a classic Gold Key character, who is a barbarian/warrior, wandering around post-apocalyptic Earth fighting mutants and other baddies. Mighty Samson will be the latest in the Dark Horse line of Gold Key revivals, joining Dr. Solar, Magnus, and Turok, from the team of Jim Shooter and Patrick Olliffe. As the description says on the Dark Horse website:

Five–hundred years after the end of the world, amid the ruins of a once–great city scourged by mutated monsters, marauders, and savage subhuman predators, the primitive N’Yark tribe ekes out a meager, fragile existence. But from among them rises a champion, gifted with prodigious strength–a warrior who can strike dead the most fearsome beast and stand alone against an army. Singlehandedly, he holds at bay the ravaging barbarian hordes of Jerz, thwarting the dark ambitions of beautiful, ruthless Queen Terra. At stake is the future of the world. Mighty Samson is the last, best hope of humankind.

Now unlike Turok or Dr. Solar, Mighty Samson was never given a Valiant revival in the 90s, so this is the first time we get to see a new take on him in years. Considering the team behind it, and how Shooter has already delivered solid revivals with Magnus, Dr. Solar, and Turok, I would say this title’s revival is in safe hands.

So what do you think readers, are you excited to see what the team at Dark Horse can do with Mighty Samson?
