Here’s an excerpt:

MTP: How did you come to bring into being?

AL:  Well, I was doing some sporadic writing for other sites for about 2 years, and eventually the time came when I decided to just do my own thing. I had made a bunch of internet friends with people on various forums over time, and I contacted those who were strong writers. Almost all of them were excited by the idea of starting with me, which was a huge plus. It gave me momentum in putting the whole thing together, knowing that people were behind it. Having daily content is key for a new site, and with a group of 20 journalists, I felt confident knowing that we wouldn’t have a shortage of writers.

Like I said above, I’ve been working at a comic shop for about a year and a half now, so I’m never far from source material which is essential to being in the know. Plus, being located in LA gets me in touch with numerous creators in the business which is good for setting up interviews and getting exclusives. I love this industry, and I figured with the right people working with me, could become a reality. Here we are almost a year since going live and I couldn’t be happier!

  1. Billy

Great interview man. Really good stuff. Two things though…1) YOU’RE GETTING MARRIED? 2) What do you mean pro bono, didn’t everyone get that royalties check from July yet? 😀

  2. […] This post was mentioned on Twitter by Cosmic Book News, Comic Attack. Comic Attack said: Our founder/editor-in-chief was interviewed by about all things #comics +! Check it out!! […]

  3. I second Billy’s number 1.
I meant to say something while we were talking about the interview earlier, but I wasn’t sure if I should.

Great interview. Especially the bit about digital comics and how retailers need to evolve.

  4. Almost a year old? Where’s the B Day party at?!
