Gotta Have It! Figure Edition: Star Wars Legacy Collection: Stormtrooper

Stormtroopers are the military enforcers of the Emperor’s will.  They strike with speed and accuracy to quell any uprising against the Empire.  From Coruscant to the Outer Rim, they maintain order with an iron fist, serving as ground forces and a space-based Imperial fleet.

In other words…they’re badasses.

Greetings, Comic Attackers!  Welcome to another fine installment of Gotta Have It! Figure Edition! In honor of this past Tuesday being Star Wars Day (May the fourth be with you!), we’ll be taking a closer look at the most awesome and most feared generic character from a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away… Star Wars Legacy Collection: Stormtrooper!

Paint Job: Not much to paint here, folks.  The glossy white armor strikes fear into the heart of every rebel and rebel sympathizer across the galaxy.  In between the plates of armor, the uniform is black along with the eyes of the helmet and other trimmings.  There are also details in blue and silver.  There are also details in gray.   The front respirator looking piece of the helmet could have been painted a little bit more in black, but it looks like they were too bashful and didn’t want to have it bleed onto the white.  A black pouch hangs off the belt.  The shoulder swivels are white, against the black uniform, but I will not say that that is wrong.  I’ve never seen a Stormtrooper’s armpit.  Have you?

Sculpt: The sculpt on this figure is highly detailed.  The difference in the two knees are represented, as are textured details on the stomach, belt, and forearms.  He can hold his blaster in either hand as they are both sculpted in a gripping position.

Keep reading or you will be shot.

Durability: This figure is of awesome construction!  The head is on a ball joint so it can move in all sorts of crazy directions.  There is a cavity in the chest for the abdomen to fit into for more movement.  The rest of the figure is made of solid pieces.  There are peg holes in each of the boot soles.  There is never a fear of breaking him when adjusting any of his joints.

Poseability: The poseability on this guy is just freakin’ crazy!  I couldn’t stop him!  See?

I'm just too sexy!

Rebel, please!

You want some of THIS?!

Yep! IIIIIIIIII didn't think so!

Accessories: This classic favorite comes with two accessories.  He comes with the blaster rifle that he’s already threatened you with if you didn’t keep reading (I hope you’re still here), and he also comes with the right arm of an HK-50 droid.  This set is part of the popular Droid Factory line.  Collect each figure from this wave to build the entire bonus figure.

What am I supposed to do with this thing? You want it?

What’s Awesome: First things first.  Stormtroopers are awesome.  Second, the poseability of this action figure is also awesome.  It sure beats the tauntaun stuffing out of the classic action figure that only bent at the shoulders and hips.  The detail on this thing is also awesome.  I like the included pouch on the belt.  It sure isn’t a blaster holster because it doesn’t fit without a fight and doesn’t look right when you do get it in there.

What Sucks: There is a tiny spot on the back of his uniform by the shoulder that was left unpainted, so he has a tiny spec of white on his black uniform. Another thing that I don’t like is that his feet only move from side to side and not up and down.  What else that sucks is that the holster (if that’s what it is) doesn’t hold the blaster.  Also, this was the only one on the shelf.  I can’t have an army of them.  Maybe they should put three or four to a case.

Overall: 4.5 out of 5.  This Stormtrooper gets four and a half thumbs up.  The minor complaints I have keep it from a perfect score.  I must have an army of these things.  Star Wars Legacy Collection: Stormtrooper.  Gotta have it?  Heck yes!  You gotta have a whole army of ’em!

See y'all later! This is the R&R I am looking for!

  1. That seriously looks like it could be a real guy in a costume. That’s some pretty amazing articulation. Looks pretty solid for $7.

  2. Billy

Stormtroopers are awesome. Looks pretty solid as Kris said for $7.

  3. […] So the poseability is fitting.  He is not capable of casual, life-like poses like his lackey Stormtroopers are and,  his cape and butt cape weigh him down in other non-standing poses.  If you have a Darth […]
