Lego Star Wars III: The Clone Wars Announced!

The most celebrated war in Star Wars comes back to video games, but this time in super cute Lego form! Lucas Arts and Traveler’s Tale announced today the development of Lego Star Wars III: The Clone Wars.

The game will feature all the characters from the two seasons of the TV show The Clone Wars, as well as favorites from the movies. The game will also have “brand new battle modes, giving players unique, head-to-head combat and an upgraded level builder, allowing the creation of customized bases and in-game battlefields.”

Lego Star Wars III: The Clone Wars will be released on Xbox 360, Playstation 3, Nintendo Wii, PC, all the portables, and every other possible gaming platform there is, however no release date has been confirmed.

Does this excite you? Are you sick of the Clone Wars yet? It seems to me like this era in Star Wars has been absolutely beaten to death from the comics, to TV, movies, and now games. How about the Lego games in general? They’ve definitely improved in quality over the last few games, but is this franchise losing steam?

Personally, I love the Lego games, and they consistently sell well, so I’ll be looking forward to many more. I hope to see a Lego Batman sequel at some point, but I think I’m done with Star Wars. Let’s get some new properties in these Lego games. What comic book characters do you want in their own Lego game?

They’re making a Lego Harry Potter so…. The only other thing I could possibly want is…maybe Lego Lord of the Rings? Yeah, I think that would be sweet.

  2. I never really got into the Lego games. They’re alright party games, but beyond that I haven’t played many. Now an X-Men Lego game I could get behind!

  3. DUDE a Lego X-Men game would be amazing. Since Warner Bros. owns Traveler’s Tale, I doubt we’ll see any Marvel Lego games anytime soon though.

A TMNT Lego game would rock my world.

My kids used to play a Lego SW game ALL THE TIME. I still hear the laser blasts in the back of my brain. lol

I think the Lego games are fun if playing with someone else. the AI partner is always running of. and your like GET BACK HERE!!! WHO DO YOU THINK YOU ARE?!? SHEVA ALOMAR TO MAH CHRIS REDFIELD?! NO!! YAH BITCH!! YAH! .. Id love to see Juggernaut own the executioner..

    but im Off topic.
the CLONE WARS… as HUGE of a star wars fan as i am (fanboy status over here) i think ima start shooping mah whoop if they do anything more with the Clone Wars. i mean christ. its been Clone Wars for the whole last karking decade. i think its time to move on to like the New Republic Era and the Vong Zhong War. Chewie’s death. Han and Leia’s son going epicly to the darkside. his twin sister having to kill him. so sad.. *le sigh*
i dont mean in lego form.. just in general. so far those have only been brought to us in comics and novels.

  6. I agree with Dakk about exploring the novels and comics a lot more. I actually felt bad when a buddy of mine found out Chewie was dead a couple of years ago.

Now a LOTR Lego game would be pretty cool Kris! I definitely would have preferred that over the Lego Indy game that came out and then came out AGAIN! ugh!
