Gotta Have It!: Nalgene Debuts Guardians of the Galaxy & Avengers Water Bottles

Nalgene has launched their Marvel Collection of water bottles and ComicAttack.net was lucky enough to score a few bottles for review!

Fans of Guardians of the Galaxy will be happy to see that Star-Lord, Gamora, Groot, Drax, and Rocket each get their own bottles with matching color scheme along with one that features the entire team. Each one is a 32 oz bottle with a wide mouth perfect for big gulps and there’s even an added piece of artwork on the back that helps measure the amount of liquid you have in your bottle. Now, for those of you who don’t want to separate Rocket and Baby Groot there’s one that features the galactic tag-team on a 20 oz bottle with an OTF (On The Fly) cap that gives it a sturdier look. The Avengers-themed ones not only have two team bottles but feature solo characters like Captain America, Black Widow, Black Panther, and more!

Gamora all day for the Mrs.!

I have a pretty active family, my wife is a personal trainer, my son is a runner and I’m an avid biker putting in about 60 hours a week on the streets of NYC. We’ve all had our share of hydration materials to work with over the years but have found a near unanimous love for our Nalgene water bottles.

With temperatures rising and prolonged vigorous activities my personal preference would have to be the screw top 32oz wide mouth bottle, adorned with a graphic of my favorite Avengers. It’s a great size for a long ride off beaten paths where there’s no guarantee that I’ll be able to stop to buy water. My wife prefers the 32oz wide mouth as well for her morning workouts. She chose the Gamora bottle! While the 32oz may be too large to fit into the average sized water bottle holder Nalgene has a 20oz “kids” size, with a pretty cool graphic of Rocket Racoon and Groot, that fits perfectly. Both bottle sizes have a wide enough opening to easily drop a few ice cubes in to keep your water cool too.

I’m pretty happy with these bottles. I have to say after spending a couple of weeks with the bottles, taking them on hikes and rides they’re amazingly durable, especially the kids bottle.¬† They’ve been scraped, dropped, washed, scrubbed and there is no visible damage whatsoever to the bottle. I also really liked that after the initial rinse there was no plastic aftertaste like some other water bottles have. However, I should stress that you should wash any water bottles you buy thoroughly before the first use anyway. If you’re an active geek like I am these make a great purchase. Currently, they stick pretty close to the core Avengers and the Guardians of the Galaxy in terms of graphics but I hope to see them expand on that in the future.

Lil man ain’t sharing!

These bottles from Nalgene are quite impressive and when you add some of the hottest Marvel characters on the scene then you’ve got a damn good combination here. If you’re not already familiar with Nalgene products just know that they don’t slack on quality as each bottle is tougher than Rocket and Groot on a rampage making it perfect and safe for outdoor activities. Or if you just happen to be prone to dropping things on a regular¬†basis and need something that will last a while as you put that lifetime guarantee to the test.

Just in case you feel like getting creative the tops are also interchangeable. I was able to switch the OTF top of the 20oz Baby Groot and Rocket bottle to one of the 32oz bottles because sometimes you just want to switch things up a bit.

Avengers Assemble!

I’ll update the post after the summer to see how well they hold up!
