Lego Star Wars III: The Clone Wars Announced!

The most celebrated war in Star Wars comes back to video games, but this time in super cute Lego form! Lucas Arts and Traveler’s Tale announced today the development of Lego Star Wars III: The Clone Wars.

The game will feature all the characters from the two seasons of the TV show The Clone Wars, as well as favorites from the movies. The game will also have “brand new battle modes, giving players unique, head-to-head combat and an upgraded level builder, allowing the creation of customized bases and in-game battlefields.”

Lego Star Wars III: The Clone Wars will be released on Xbox 360, Playstation 3, Nintendo Wii, PC, all the portables, and every other possible gaming platform there is, however no release date has been confirmed.

Does this excite you? Are you sick of the Clone Wars yet? It seems to me like this era in Star Wars has been absolutely beaten to death from the comics, to TV, movies, and now games. How about the Lego games in general? They’ve definitely improved in quality over the last few games, but is this franchise losing steam?

Personally, I love the Lego games, and they consistently sell well, so I’ll be looking forward to many more. I hope to see a Lego Batman sequel at some point, but I think I’m done with Star Wars. Let’s get some new properties in these Lego games. What comic book characters do you want in their own Lego game?
